Chris Broders' 49 Styleline

I cannot get over how incredibly cool this period perfect Chevy is. The first thing that blows you away is the incredible "watsonesque" paint job by none other than mr. Harpoon himself. Done to perfection. The tuck n roll interior, hot rod straight six (built by Chris' dad) and smooth body work and customizing by Circle City hot rods make this car a piece of rolling art. By far the coolest custom I've seen in a long time. Congratulations Chris. Do yourself a favour and go hunt down a copy of The Rodders Journal issue #52 to read the article and drool over the pictures.

I stopped in at the local bookstore the other day and was pleased to find these two fine rags on the shelf. Autocult has risen from the ashes of Garage magazine is is well worth its weight in gold. Great articles and photography on rods and the culture surrounding in this, the premier issue. Highly reccomended. Next is the highly coveted Rodders Journal. now i've heard a lot of great things about this magazine but i am ashamed to say this is the first issue i've picked up. It blows the doors off any of those other "rat-rod kulture" mags out there. Loaded with cool cars, new and old, crisp photography and informative articles. A little less punk rock and little more class than Autocult, the two together make for a perfect afternoon read. Now I made a point to find this issue of RJ for a reason, as it features a unbelievable car owner by a friend. More on that to come, hold on to your hats...

I love swap meets

So me, Jordan and Cory got up at the crack of dawn and heading South to the Regina Swap. Upon a quick survey of the room, things looked kinda lame, but once the crowd starting flowing in, the parts started to move. Long story short, i came home in the black cash wise and got a ton of goodies. Apparently we were the only ones looking for anything pre-1991. Scores of the day was the guy who asked me if i'd trade my set of sportster gauges (i woulda gave em away if he asked) for a 16" borrani rim. um sure!

RIP James Van Doren

One of the Originators of the Vans Shoe Company, Jim Van Doren Has passed away at Age 72. Vans are the shoe of choice in my closet and I'm sure many of you reading this share the same taste in footwear. We can thank Jim for creating the company that has helped form a culture we all love and cherish. Skateboarding, music, art, surf, the Vans shoe company holds strong even after 45 years in the business. RIP

That time of year again

Well its bombing snow outside my window and right now all I can think of is waxin the board and strapping in. But until there is enough snow on the hills grab yourself a copy of Capita's new movie Defenders of Awesome which features chopper head TJ Schneider.

No Dice. Yet.

So due to some unforseen and unexplainable circumstance We did not receive our shipment of Dice Issue #40. Somewhere out there is a big box of dice issues collecting dust. Or some very entertained mailmen. We apologize for anyone waiting but don't worry, theres more coming. I should get them by early next week. Stay tuned.

Progress on the 71 sporty

So he finally got the new back bone in place and has the frame tacked in place. He is keeping the original drum so is in the process of drilling a crossover through the frame. This monster is 6'3" and did the right thing by stretching this bad boy out 4". New home made risers and sweet original King Queen to top off the chop! cant wait to see it rolling down the road brother!
