Chop Meet III Video

The third annual Chop Meet in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This year the event left the backyard and ventured out into the streets to play host to an estimated 400 chopper and vintage bike enthusiasts. The chop Meet kept peoples attention throughout the day with a morning swap meet, followed by an afternoon vintage cycle "show and grime", and was capped off by a ridiculous block party put on by Bernie's Machine Works. Folks from across Canada (Kimberley BC, Drayton Valley AB, Edmonton AB, Calgary AB, Prince Albert SK, Regina SK, Winnipeg MB, and even a crazy cat passing through from Toronto ON) met in our little prairie town of Saskatoon to talk trash, make trash and ride trash. Amazing time. Thanks to everyone who made it out young and old. Come back next year for more choppah mayhem.

Chop Meet 3

I'm struggling to find words to describe how amazing this past weekend was for me. The chop meet was a HUGE success. So many amazing people. Old friends, new friends, I can't fathom how many hugs and high fives were thrown down. So much love. The Swap meet was a full house both for vendors and buyers. Tons of cool parts, old and new. The turnout for the Show was beyond what we expected. So many amazing bikes of all years, makes and models. And Bernie's after Party was out of hand. Beers were crushed in an ungodly fashion and the vibe was nothing but positive all night. The bands played till 2 am and people were literally dancing in the street. An impromptu "king of the street" leg wrestling tournament happened out of no where and got completely out of hand with winners bein hoisted on shoulders and cheers galore. It was unbelievable. From kids to grey beards everyone had such a good time. It was a ton Of work but I don't regret any of it and cannot wait to start planning for next year. I was blown away with how many people rode from all over the country to come hang in little ol Saskatoon for the weekend. I want to thank Jordan Epp for all the help with organizing, all the sponsors who graciously donated, everyone the helped out in any way and most importantly everyone for coming out and making it such a great day. We have an unbelievable scene out here. Jordan took this picture and tons more and ill start posting some shots of the day soon See you at Chop Meet 4.

Chop Meet 2013

We are now in full swing planning more for Chop Meet 2013 in Saskatoon.  This years event will be held at Bernie's Machine Works in Saskatoon.  We are promoting the event as one part Swap Meet and the half  Ride-in Chopper & Classic Cycle show.  We started a blog as a home base for all info and updates related to the event.  We will soon be looking for sponsors and ironing out some of the details.  Take a minute to check out the page and start making plans to attend the event on September 7, 2013.  We will be updating on the blog and the facebook page as things progress.....

Jordan snapped this pic of me awhile back.  It looks like i'm really in the zone on my new Southbend lathe but in all reality it isnt even hooked up to power yet.  I turned the chuck by hand to narrow the intake manifold for my 47.

Got a rad package from my good pal over at Blackboard Cafe.  Al and Brittany have moved to the next level with handmade tops made by themselves in their living room in Los Angeles, California..  The quality and fit is amazing and I foresee big things for these guys.  Check in to their webstore every once in awhile as they are constantly adding new items on a limited supply.  Bottom picture is me in the Mann Booze run tee over the classic striped tee and my oldest daughter in the Losers old lady tee.

On the Streets (soon)

Putting together this 61 Pan shovel for my buddy Adam which started off as a 61 swing-arm basket case.  We farmed out a few things, like paint by Cole Jabusch, the seat which was upholstered by Haifley Bros. in sunny Phoenix, Arizona.   These amazing bars were custom built for the bike by Mr. Cro Customs himself, Caleb Owens in Culver City, CA.  The bike is nearing completion with just a few items left to do on the list.  Can't wait to kick it over and put this black beauty on the road.

Flathead goes boom

This Video was made by my friend Jordan from the antiquated mule blog. This was such a surreal time finally hearing that thing fire up and it actually ran good! I've been dreaming of a bike like this since I was 14 years old. Thanks to everyone who helped me with this project.

Good Times ahead

Well the clock is ticking and its almost that time of year again.  I will once again be heading down for the big show as well as the week leading up and the week following.  can't wait. I'm sending my knuck down with Jordan and the gang and i'm flying to LA on the 22nd.  see you there.

Canuckleheads

Jordan epp was over the other night trying out his new 35mm picture taker.  Shot a pic of these two Canadian knuckleheads.  I'd say hes got that new camera figured out.

The Red Rooster

I recently finished up this Shovelhead chopper which was basically a make work, make money, side project.  I had a good molded frame and set of beautiful invader wheels left over from my knuck tear down, as well as a garage full of this and thats to pick from.  I scooped up a good used 74" motor and 4-speed trans and pieced it all together.  Jordan epp took some shots of it and Oil and Rust did a little feature of her on their web zine here.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  A buddy or mine from Winnipeg scooped it up before it went on the market and just took her home the other day.  Can't wait to ride alongside Brad and the rooster.

Hard Ride Vintage Cycles

So this hobby of mine of playing with old motorcycles has transformed into a much bigger beast than I originally anticipated.  I have gone from building and playing with my own scooter to building multiples bikes at the same time.  Some for myself, for others and for strictly re-sale.  So due to this frenzy of activity in my little shop I have decided to set up under a proper shop name, Hard Ride Vintage Cycles.  I recently finished up the Red Rooster and sold it to a hell of a good man in Winnipeg, MB.  soon to be renamed "Dogs Breakfast" Pan-shovel is nearing completion and my own 47 knuck chop is starting to come together.  Spring is near and I have a ton of work to finish before the big melt.  I am not running a full service motorcycle shop out of my garage but rather I want to focus and maintin on working on one bike or two bikes at a time.  I may be able to find the time to do a little bit of custom fab and mechanical work but I am really mostly interested on full builds.  And I am not interested on working on your softtail custom or old Jap scoot.  preferably big twin vintage harley.  Anyways I have set up a webstore with my new shop tees.  and as always you can contact me at brianwjessop@gmail.com with any inquiries.
