Eddie's Ariel
I met Eddie Mendes at some hyped up motorcycle gig last summer. A funny Brazilian chap with a taste for the booze similar to my own. We had some good laughs, cold beers and a few too many swigs from that god awful Jim Beam bottle that Paulo kept near by. I hate bourbon by the way, i think i had a few too many bad experiences with it in high school. I guess i just drank it to be polite. None for me this year thank you. Make it Jameson and we might have a deal. Anyways, Eddie lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil and this is his awesome 1951 Ariel 350cc that he has apparently had for over 25 years. It has a WL hardtail section and many hand made bits and vintage pieces. I love the look of this bike and mostly i love the look of that vintage ariel motor. Very cool man. I think Eddies ahead of the game with this bike. Once all the knuckles and pre-units are dug up and bought up by those with the thicker wallets, you'll start to see some of the lesser known and lesser popular yet stunningly gorgeous vintage motors and bikes being customized and ressurected. Very cool bike man, great job. See ya in a few weeks man.

Sink or Swim
This is Jordan Epp and this is his motorcycle, Sink or swim. First i'll tell you a little about Jordan, then i'll move on to the bike. Jordan and I met a few years ago through the local motorcycle chopping world, i believe it was at some local gay motorcycle convention thing. We both had beards and a blog and naturally we became bros. That last sentence could turn into a pretty funny chopper dude shirt. nevermind, chopper skater dude humour. anyways. i think we click so good together because we both live in the same world. Blue collar workers, wife and a couple kids at home. Trying to feed the family, pay the mortgage and play with motorcycles at the same time. Jordan literally builds bikes in a 10x12 shed in his back yard. He has great vision, oodles of style and a work ethic that is something to be proud of. He is the epitomy of the back yard builder. Late nights after work, crushing beers and spraying sparks, he's in heaven in that shed. I knew when he called me up and told me he found a basket shovel that it would turn into something great. Sink or swim is a slapshot into the mesh. Built on a budget, yet no details were half-assed, this is a motorcycle to be proud of. Whenever i need advice on something bike related, Jordo is the first guy i call and he always straightens my frazzled mind out. A true believer of "stick to your first instinct" he envisioned what he wanted with this bike and I am proud to have been able to help make it a reality. Way to go brother, i'm proud of you and am excited to put on many miles beside you on this fine steed.
Check out his blog Antiquated Mule
If you see any really nice photos of my bikes on this blog, most likely they were taken by Jordan. His photography is nothing but professional. check out his work, or better yet, pay him to shoot your bike!

I rolled up to Jordan snapping a few pics of Cory's Honda the other day and managed to sneak in front of the camera lense. I was happy to get a few shots of the pan-shovel with the temporary tin set on it. Should hopefully be getting my old tins with new paint back soon. I gotta admit the crazy Csik painted sporty tank and old paint wassell fender look pretty sharp on this bike. Thanks for the shots Jordo.

The highway murderer
Cole stopped by the other evening on his newly re-decorated FXDXT now fittingly coined "The Highway Murderer". You can't tell from these pics (due to it being dusk) but the entire bike is flamed right the fuck out with black cherry flames on a black base. This bike Is bad-ass. Hopefully post some more pics of this bike in the sun soon.

moving on
New beginnings can be pretty stressful but at the same time pretty cool. I built this home for my family 10 years ago. I mean actually built... did the plumbing, heating and gas. learned how to cut and lay tile. insulate and install cabinetry. My son was only a baby when we left an imprint of his hands in the concrete drive. Selling this home will be like selling the first bike I built, pretty sad but fukin excited to see whats next.

Long legged beauty
Love this long legged triumph I came across in an old 60's cycle rag. Quite possibly one of the sexiest trumpets I've seen yet.

Saskatoon shines
After what seemed like an eternity, the rain finally quit and the sun Showed up and offered us an amazing spring day in Saskatoon. So due to these fortunate circumstances I couldn't say no when Jordan hit me up to go for a ride. The new cycle electric gen I just installed worked like a hot dam and the bikes ran like they should. It's gonna be a fun summer.

MCA
The passing of Adam Yauch yesturday bummed me out. I've been a Beastie Boys fan for alot of years. Such a talented and inspirational music force for so long, they proved that age and time can't hold you back from being creative and successful. RIP MCA you will be missed.
