Life lessons

Or at least a motorcycle buying lesson for all of you out there. The picture has nothing to do with any of this.

New rule #1 - when you talk to the guy on the phone, give him your FULL name. Its a small world, and the chopper/motosickle scene is even smaller. If he knows you, he'll probly give you dibs.

Rule #2 - Show up early. Like 30 minutes early, big deal if you gotta sit in your truck and listbigot both sides of appetite for destruction for the 345678th time. Its worth not getting beat to the score that lies in that garage.

Theres other rules than these, but i'm not getting into things too deep here, these two just came to light with me over a deal that went wrong. If i'd followed these rules, i'd have another chopper project sitting in the garage without my wallet being emptied out completely. Life goes on.

But on a postive note, I came across another out of this world deal today, So stay tuned for details on my next winter project...

oh yeah and another life lesson, totally unrelated. When your ol lady tells you not to take her camera on a ride, and tells you not to put it in that shitty old army backpack, Well you should probably listen. Cuz I didn't and so the reason there is no pics/follow-up on yuppie run, is cuz the camera is in the ditch out there somewhere. By the way, yuppie run was a fucking blast. Big thanks to Wreck and Sluggo, can't wait till next year.

Change is GOOD! I love change

change is good. to remain the same is to deny growth and to allow yourself to be content with mediocrity. the 63 is heading home for a spot of growth! It is the last time you will see it in its current form.

Yuppie Run

Its that time again, this weekend is the 3rd annual yuppie run! Let the good times roll. If you are confused about the name, heres a bit of an explanation. Like all the "badass" weekend warriors of our city, we are gonna throw a leg over our trusty steeds and head to the cottage country of christopher/emma/waskesiu lakes. Altho this group is a little more dirtbag than yuppie, we take inspiration from the doctors and lawyers of the redline clientele. Booze, drugs and debauchery will ensue, its sure to prove a good time, or at least a shitty hangover and a few injuries in the morning. Pics and stories will hopefully be chronicled and shared if our memories serve us well.

LOVE EAR ART

Gen Katsuragawa is the mastermind artist behind Love Ear Art of Yokohama, Japan. Definitely inspired by the early seventies chopper/van psycedelic paint, Words that come to mind when looking at his work are amazing, beautiful, outrageous and mind blowing. His work is truly original as I have yet to see anyone creating masterpieces quite like these. I had the opportunity to meet and chat briefly with Gen at the LB swap in June and he seemed to be one hell of a nice guy as well. Check him out @ www.loveearart.com

Rocky roads

Amazing ride up to the lake last week, the bike ran great, even handles well on gravel! I'm really starting to fall for this bike and am getting the itch real bad to put some serious miles on her. Preferebly on pavement that is...
